FAQ
Q: Are you currently accepting new clients?
A: No. As of January 2024, I have a waitlist for new clients. Contact me to be added to the list!
Q: Can I participate in counseling online?
A: Yes! Both in-person AND online appointments are available. Online appointments happen via a secure telehealth platform that you can access via any Wifi-enabled device. Online therapy means you can have your session in the comfort of your own space and with the convenience of no commute.
Q: Does online counseling mean I don’t have to be local to you?
A: Yes! Thanks to telehealth, you don’t have to live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast (or intend to ever meet me in person!) to be my client. However, I am only licensed to practice in Mississippi, which means you must be located in the state of Mississippi at the time of every session.
Q: Where is your office?
A: My office is located at 2112 Bienville Blvd, Suite M-2 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
Q: What are your hours?
A: I am in my office from 9:00 until 3:15 Monday through Friday.
Q: What ages do you serve?
A: I currently work with adults—individuals 18 and older.
Q: Is your practice LGBTQ+ affirming?
A: YES! I am honored to work with individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations.
Q: Do you see couples?
A: No. I specialize in individual therapy.
Q: How much experience do you have?
A: I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology in 2010 and started my career in community mental health, working primarily with adults through individual and group therapy, including anger management groups. I also worked with children in the summer day treatment program. I earned my license in 2012 and joined a group practice where I worked for 6 years with teenagers and adults through individual therapy, social skills groups, and psychological testing. I’ve been in solo private practice since 2018.
Q: Can I use my insurance to pay for therapy?
A: Probably! I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Optum/United Healthcare, and Lockard & Williams.. I can also bill some other plans with out-of-network benefits, such as Carelon/Beacon/Value Options. I am happy to verify benefits for you as a courtesy, but specific plans vary, so I highly recommend calling the number on the back of your insurance card to get specific details.
Q: I’m a counselor; can you supervise me?
A: Maybe! As an LPC-S, I supervise a few other counselors as they pursue Mississippi LPC licensure. I welcome the opportunity to help other therapists with similar professional goals. If you are looking for an LPC supervisor, I’d be happy to chat with you to see if we’re a good fit.
Q: I’m a licensed therapist interested in private practice, but I don’t know where to start; can you help me?
A: Yes! There is a LOT to learn when it comes to running a private practice, and I get really fired up about sharing the knowledge I’ve gained with other therapists. Our community needs more sustainable businesses run by empowered, happy therapists! Get in touch to learn more about how to work with me as a business consultant!
Q: Can you write an Emotional Support Animal letter for me?
A: No. I am professionally bound by the ethics code of the American Counseling Association, which does not permit this practice for counselors without specialized training
